CurtainWall & GundWall
CurtainWall and GundWall are subsurface vertical barriers categorized as geomembrane products and are designed to prevent and deflect the flow of underground containment plumes, subsurface water flow, and other subsurface liquid transport. These products are constructed from a specific grade of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane liner. The products include similar mechanical interlocks which are permanently attached to the vertical edges of the geomembrane panel. CurtainWall is typically used for trench style installations, where as GundWall by nature is more commonly installed with trenchless and vibratory style installation techniques. These Veritical barriers systems are effectively designed to block lateral migration of subsurface fluids such as saltwater, freshwater, methane gas, and contaminated leachates from waste piles thus allowing close containment, exclusion, isolation, treatment, and/or easy pin point removal.
CurtainWall is a smooth, high quality, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane produced from specially formulated, virgin polyethylene resin. This polyethylene resin is designed specifically for flexible geomembrane applications. It contains approximately 97.5% polyethylene, 2.5% carbon black and trace amounts of antioxidants and heat stabilizers; no other additives, fillers or extenders are used. GSE CurtainWall has outstanding chemical resistance, mechanical properties, environmental stress crack resistance, dimensional stability and thermal aging characteristics. It has excellent resistance to U.V. radiation and is suitable for exposed conditions. GSE CurtainWall interlock is sealed using GSE HyperTite, a hydrophilic vulcanized expansive rubber gasket for the sealing joints.
CurtianWall Interlock is a reversible HDPE profile designed with multiple sealant Chambers, where a hydrophilic rubber seal must be inserted into one or for extra security, multiple chambers.
GundWall is a smooth, specific grade, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane product which is designedfor flexible geomembrane applications, containing approximately 97.5% polyethylene, 2.5% carbon black, and minor amounts of antioxidants and heat stabilizers. GundWall has high chemical resistance, environmental stress crack resistance, great dimensional integrity and thermal aging characteristics all while being resistant to UV degradation making it suitable for exposed conditions.
GundWall Interlock consists of male and female HDPE profiles, and is analogous to a dovetail joint. It is tight and creates a mechanical seal using hydrophilic sealant in the key cavity. It allows for panels to be vibrated into place using an insertion plate in loose or medium dense.
