Uniaxial(UX) Geogrids
Uniaxial (UX) Geogrids are manufactured from specific grades of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins. Such HDPE resins are highly oriented and resist creep (elongation) when subjected to heavy loads for extensive periods of time. These Uniaxial geogrids are also highly resistant to damage during installation as well as long-term chemical or biological degradation. Our UX Geogrids have been repeated tested and empirical data shows that no degradation is seen even in soils with pH levels measuring as high as 12, in both wet and dry environments. The inert properties of such HDPE resins are capable of being backfilled with a variety of materials, including recycled concrete and native soils.
UX Geogrids have the ability to carry high tensile loads applied in one direction (along the roll). Their open aperture structure allows interlocking with backfill material to provide extreme load transfer from soil to geogrid. These geogrids are manufactured by punching a polymer sheet to create a uniform product, which does not require more work after being manufactured to maintain its structural integrity.
Advantages of Uniaxial Geogrid:
♦ Usable with wide range of facing options such as Concrete blocks/panels and treated timber.
♦ Provides up to 60% saving in material and time than traditional reinforced concrete and gravity structures.
♦ High resistance to dynamic shock loading
♦ High resistance to seismic activity.
♦ Allows topping with native (on-site) soil
♦ Withstand differential settlement.
♦ High connection capacity strength between facing and the grid.
♦ Aesthetically appealing structure.
♦ Reduces traffic disruption and lane closure.
Common Applications of Uniaxial Geogrid:
♦ For high-strength soil reinforcement
♦ Wall and Slope application
♦ Retaining wall systems
♦ Bridge abutments
♦ Vegetated retaining walls
♦ Steep reinforced slopes
♦ Embankments on soft subgrades
♦ Landfill liner reinforcement
♦ Mining applications
